Do I work from photographs? I can work from good quality photographs, so you can email me the images and I will take a look and suggest the most suitable ones to use. Then we can discuss requirements via phone or e-mail. Try to ensure that images are 300dpi and in the form of a jpeg. Most phone camera's take pictures at 72dpi. If you are unsure about whether the photograph you would like to use is good enough please send it and I will have a look and let you know. The end product of the work depends very much on the quality of the photograph that you send, so please bear this in mind if your preferred photo is not suitable for me to work from. I want to make sure that you are happy with the final result and this really does hinge on my reference material. I can take my own reference photos of the subject if required. This is by separate arrangement.
Where do I ship to? I accept commissions from the UK and Internationally.
Do I need to pay a deposit? A deposit of 50% is required to secure my time and the materials used to complete the artwork. The balance is payable upon approval of the final artwork and prior to any postage. I always work to your final approval, and take time to understand your requirements upfront. However, with the best will in the world, it may be that you change your mind, or do not wish to take the final artwork. In this instance it is prudent to note that the initial deposit is non returnable.
How long will it take to complete? It totally depends on availability and the size/detail of the required piece, but as a rule of thumb you should allow up to 8 weeks for me to complete a work. Therefore, if you have a completion date for your commission please let me know before I begin as each piece works on a first come first serve basis unless specified.
Does it take longer for an OIL painting? Please ensure you also allow drying time for oils (minimum of 3 weeks on top of painting time)
Will my artwork come framed? In a word, no. I do not offer framing as a service, as I have learnt that this is down to personal preference and possible damage in transit. Therefore, the completed piece of Artwork will not be framed by me unless it has been discussed and agreed by both parties before hand. N.B. If you choose a painting on a box canvas this doesn't usually require framing anyway.
Can I see the artwork while you paint it? Yes. I can either post works in progress via my facebook page, if it isn't a surprise for anyone. Alternatively I can send you images through the painting process if you wish. On completion of the Artwork, I will send you an email with a jpeg image attached of the final piece, for you to check and approve prior to shipment. Finished paintings/artworks will be securely packaged and sent via a reputable courier.
How large will my painting be? This is totally up to you. I can paint as small or large as you wish. A guideline to prices and size can be found below. Sizes are in imperial measurements. A link to a size conversion chart is attached for your guidance. Please bear size in mind with regards to the cost of shipment.
How much will it cost to ship my painting? This is dependant on size and distance the artwork has to travel. As I ship internationally I will quote the price of shipment upon your initial request to give you a guide to the final price due. The deposit of 50% does NOT include any postage or packaging and this will be added to the outstanding balance due on completion.
Can you use colours that will go in my room? I always aim to please so if you have a specific palette in mind I can always try to accommodate.
